"Combo tour: city tour on foot and by bus combined"

Bus and Walking Tour combined

This tour is very popular, because it allows you to experience a lot of Dresden in a short time.

It consists of a walking tour through Dresden’s Historic Old Town and a driving tour by bus (either on your own bus or one we’ll rent for you)

The walking tour comprises all the famous sights of the Old Town: the baroque Zwinger, Semper Opera House, the Frauenkirche and many more.

After that we explore the surroundings by bus.
There we find elegant residential houses and villas, the romantic river landscape at the Elbe with its broad meadows, vineyards and splendid architecture. Three palaces in a beautiful vineyard bear witness to the exciting history of the people who lived there. We drive over the historic bridge “The Blue Wonder” and see a cosy village on the other side of the river. The tour includes a stop at “Pfund’s Dairy” which was named by the Guinness Book of Records “the most beautiful dairy shop in the world”. Of course, the final highlight of the tour is the Baroque Quarters Inner Neustadt.

When night falls, the streets are empty and the bats circle the Hausmann Tower, a different world comes into view: the Dresden ghosts step out of their vaults, from the waves of the Elbe, out of mysterious cellars and the deep dark past – into the light of the moon.

Secret Archivist Lindhorst knows them all because he lives in their world.

On this entertaining walking tour you’ll learn all about the white lady on Palace Square, the ghost of the Bishop of Meissen, the walled-in nun on Rosemary Lane, the student Anselmus and his love of a green snake and much, much more.

"Dresden criminal tour"

In this entertaining costume tour Doctor Watson (aka actor and singer Dr. Stephan Reher) leads you on a musical trail through Dresden’s crime scenes.

Feared bandits, unscrupulous killers and crafty con men – all of them were up to no good in the Saxon royal residence. Some of them have even become the heroes of verses and songs, anecdotes and witty horror stories.

These include the bandit Lips Tullian and the Black Guard from the Tharandt Forest, the notorious Johannes Karasek and the con man Karl May, otherwise known as one of Germany’s most celebrated authors of adventure literature and inventor of the Apache Chief Winnetou.

Famous criminals also need celebrity victims: for example, the great Dresden painter Gerhard von Kügelgen, who bumped into an assassin; the violin virtuoso Gunkel, whose ex-lover shot him in the tram; even the Saxon King himself was in on the fun!

Dresden’s history is more exciting than a mystery thriller!

This musical costume tour is a entertaining and humourous city walk for mystery fans. You will see the scenes of famous historical crimes and hear the criminal secrets of Dresden’s alleyways.

Numbers, dates and buildings aren’t the focus of this entertaining tour, rather the faces behind the facades and the people who made history. Mr. Biedermann will take the bronze figures off of their pedestals and bring them to life for you.

Gallant tales, exciting intrigues, hearty ballads, tragic and amusing events – Bänkelsänger Biedermann knows them all and will let you in on Dresden’s most intimate secrets. "From the Baroque Quarter to trendy Outer Neustadt"

If you already know the historic old town – Dresden continues on the other bank of the river Elbe – and it’s just as beautiful and fascinating!

We start from the „Golden Rider“ – the gilded equestrian statue of Augustus the Strong, Duke of Saxony and King of Poland, who ordered the “New King’s Town” to be built in the 18th century. We walk along a beautiful plane tree avenue, called Haupstraße (Main street). Much has been originally preserved: Elegant patrician buildings, artisan arcades, secluded courtyards.

Special highlights:
Dreikönigskirche (Three King’s Church), historic Market Hall, Societaetstheater (original baroque theatre building), artisan arcades, Königsstraße, Japanese Palais and Albertplatz.

At the close of the 19th century Dresden grew rapidly due to industrial development and the increasing population – so a new quarter was created 150 years ago, in an era we call Foundation period (Gründerzeit): Outer Neustadt. Its architecture has some of the finest examples of period houses in Europe.

Today Outer Neustadt is the trendy and multicolored center of alternative culture, art and nightlife.

Highlights of Outer Neustadt:
Kunsthofpassagen (artisan courtyards), Martin-Luther-Platz, Pfund‘s Molkerei (mentioned in the Guinness Book of Records as the most beautiful dairy shop in the world), the old Jewish cemetery and lots of interesting people from the whole world.

Enjoy the splendid panorama view of the historic old town’s skyline and the scenic surroundings. Just arrived on the other side you stand before the „Golden Rider“ – the equestrian statue of Augustus the Strong, Duke of Saxony and King of Poland.

This is the start of the baroque quarter’s exciting story. The historic quarter has been originally preserved and meticulously restored. So you can walk past splendid patrician buildings, romantic courtyards with magnificent boutiques, artisan arcades, antique shops and high-class art galleries.

This is Dresden’s centre of alternative culture. You’ll find colourful painted facades, street art, a multitude of pubs, bars, restaurants of all categories and many extraordinary shops in narrow streets and secluded courtyards

Special Recommendation: the Kunsthof-Passage which was designed by young Dresden artists. It consists of several courtyards with fantastic animals, the court of the elements and many extraordinary artistic installations. Here you find a lot of restaurants and craft-art shops
